Ate there and got crab cakes around 7pm and went to bed not long after. It’s now 3 am and I can not stop vomiting. I felt completely and it hit out of no where. No one else is sick but no one else got crab cakes so I think that’s what did it. | Symptoms: Nausea, Vomiting

The County of San Diego is investigating an ongoing outbreak of Shigella. As of December 17, 2021, 46 confirmed cases and 5 probable cases of shigellosis have been reported, these cases are among individuals experiencing homelessness, with the majority at multiple locations in central San Diego and... two cases in North County. No source of the outbreak has currently been identified.
Illness dates are between Aug. 16 and Nov. 21, 2021, with the new cases occurring between Nov.15 and Nov. 21, 2021, with symptom onset for the latest case being Nov. 27, 2021.
The County continues to work closely with the City of San Diego, regional homeless service providers and others to identify new cases, prevent future potential exposures and promote good hygienic and sanitation precautions.

The FSIS is issuing a public health alert for an undetermined amount of imported meat and poultry products from China because these products are ineligible to import into the U.S., making them unfit for human consumption. A recall was not requested because FSIS has been unable to... identify and contact the importers. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to the consumption of these products.
The products subject to the public health alert and labels are listed below. The total amount of ineligible products is undetermined because the investigation is ongoing.
Retailers who have purchased the products are urged not to sell them. Consumers who purchased the products should not consume them and need to dispose of them properly. Consumers are asked to dispose of the products by double bagging them to reduce the possibility of animals accessing the products. USDA cannot confirm whether the products were properly heated to control pathogens that affect domestic livestock.

HAIFA SMOKED FISH is expanding their recall of Turbot Cold Smoked 8 oz Packages to include 920 LB of Turbot from Lots 97, 223, 299, 321. The products have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections... in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. No illnesses have been reported up to date.
Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
