The County of San Diego is investigating an ongoing outbreak of Shigella. As of December 17, 2021, 46 confirmed cases and 5 probable cases of shigellosis have been reported, these cases are among individuals experiencing homelessness, with the majority at multiple locations in central San Diego and... The products have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections... Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
