8/17/23 to 8/21/23 at the Royalton Punta Cana Resort. Majority of my family returned home with diarrhea that began a day or two before departure. No diagnoses yet, but sure feels like food poisoning. Drinking water served with meals? Fish? Flies? Poor sanitation? Poor pool hygiene or

poor general hygiene? I first felt the chills and aches after leaving the pool one afternoon. That same day I ate from a burger bar with toppings left out for who knows long without proper chilling. I had a fresh coconut at the poolside. And I ate what became my normal breakfast there of fried eggs and toast (seemed the safest choice in the buffet). That night my family had a fish dinner on the beach and that seemed to be the nail in the coffin because I suffered from watery diarrhea all night. My partner also has an unexplained rash on his stomach. I wish I had definitive answers on how these symptoms came to be, but I just know that I have never ever felt this way before and have no choice but to link it to my 5 day stay at this resort.

Sick for three days. Spoilt holiday. Foid poisoning. Was hospitalised through medical centre at resort. And still ill. Also ended up with bill of over 1500 dollars. Hotel needs to take responsibility

My son and I got sick 11/17. Not sure exactly from what but my husband and younger son are fine. We think it was from the hotdogs served at the main swim up pool. There was a food stand.

were served cold chicken wings which we believe were not cooked. My husband took one bite and did not want to eat the rest. We wonder if this is where the illness came from. During our flight back on Sunday, my husband started to get a headache. We didn’t think much of it, but on Monday, it got worse, then the diarrhea started. Tuesday he began throwing up, and had a high fever. By Wednesday, he had not eaten anything since Monday and was not able to keep fluids down. Thursday morning we ended up being admitted to the hospital and tests came back positive for salmonella. He is still in the hospital and is quite sick. Two of our other group members have also reported similar illnesses of less severity. The overall service, cleanliness and quality of this resort was abhorrent and we will never go back.
