Norovirus infection usually begins with diarrhea and vomiting that are often mistaken for flu, and hence the infection being termed the stomach flu. The highly contagious virus can be spread via food, water, contaminated surfaces, and close contact with infected persons.

The effected products are Lots B231126, B240103, and B240214 of oysters processed by JBR (KR 15 SP) in Tongyeongsi, Republic of Korea on specific dates in late 2023 and early 2024.

The FDA advises consumers not to eat and restaurants and retailers not to serve or sell these oysters due to the potential Norovirus contamination.
