The products were distributed across Western Washington. The recall was initiated after local health partners discovered the presence of STEC in the products during routine testing.

The recalled products include Cozy Vale Creamery raw milk and cream sold in gallon, half-gallon, quart, and pint containers with best by dates from 2/18/24 to 2/29/24 and 3/18/2024 to 3/28/2024. The specific batch and UPC details were not provided.

E. coli bacteria normally live in the intestines of humans and animals. Many strains of E. coli bacteria exist, and most of them are harmless or beneficial to human health. STEC are strains of E. coli that produce Shiga toxin (such as E. coli O157:H7) and can cause serious illness in people.
