For the first time I decided to get a Iced Chocolate Almond Milk Espresso (decaf). I normally get a decaf iced coffee black. I took a few sips and thought the taste was off because of the almond milk. Then my mom and husband both took a … See More
sip and said “tasted weird” again chalking it up to the taste of the almond milk. I had a few sips before dinner and my stomach started to cramp and I got very gassy. I thought it was just because I haven’t eaten yet. After dinner and the night progressed I wanted to finish it. As soon as I took the last sip I got an awful band of cramps across my midsection, followed by nausea and many trips to the bathroom for a bad stomach. I was freezing and my upper legs started to ache. (This drink was the only new addition to my normal diet and I had a healthy dinner that my husband has cooked for us many times before. The general feeling of unease and feeling sick was awful. I couldn’t sleep because the cramps and feeling in my stomach was so bad. It went on from about 11:30pm last night to about 1pm this afternoon when I was finally able to fall asleep. I have no idea if they didn’t clean the machines or if something was expired. But I don’t think I will ever order from there again. I’ve been a customer for so many years and never gotten sick before.  | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Other, Cramps, Gas

Consuming food contaminated with plastic pieces can potentially cause harm, depending on the size and shape of the plastic. Small, sharp pieces could cause injury to the mouth, throat, or digestive tract. Larger pieces could potentially cause choking or blockages in the digestive system. However, small, non-sharp pieces are likely to pass through the digestive system without causing harm. It's important to note that repeated or long-term exposure to certain types of plastics may have additional health effects, but this is outside the scope of foodborne pathogens and illnesses.

If you or a loved one are harmed or experiencing any symptoms, it is important to report it. Reporting can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.
