14 January 2019
Purchased a large amount of food from Burger King for my niece's birthday party (3 adults + 5 children) on 13 January 2019.
- 6 Chicken Nugget orders (10 each)
- Several Honey Mustard sauce sealed tubs
- 2 Whopper Combos
- 2 Hamburgers (Dollar Menu)
- 2 Tacos
- 3 Bottled Waters
I brought a silver-lined, sealed heat bag to transfer the food to the party from Burger King.
We had the party at the baseball park (across Van Nuys Blvd.) and we ate all of the food.
One edge of one of the Whoppers tasted as if it hadn't been cooked (from what I could tell, the outer area of the burger approximately 1 inch deep + 3 inches wide).
I noticed the meat seemed uncooked as I was chewing but swallowed anyway.
I consumed 1 Whopper, about 4 of the Nuggets, a bite of one of the tacos and had a few French fries around 11:30 am.
I experienced a very full feeling in my stomach afterwards (even though it wasn't enough food to make me feel that full) and my stomach actually appeared (and felt) to be distended.
I experienced loose stools around 5 - 7pm and experienced diarrhea around 2am and again at 6am this morning. I don't believe that the waves of diarrhea have subsided (yet) - I can feel that I will continue to have diarrhea because it seems to hit every 40 minutes. (it's now 9am)
I presumed the stomach upset must be a result of consuming the fried foods (that I don't typically eat). But in retrospect, I believe the uncooked portion of the burger may be the culprit.
I haven't checked with the other people from the birthday party to see if anyone else has experienced the same stomach problems, yet.
Prior to this, I haven't eaten at a Burger King for at least 8 years (I generally avoid Fast Food restaurants).
I am treating the diarrhea with Pepto Bismol and plain white rice.
Note:
The business itself appeared to be clean and well-kept. The counter staff were very nice and accommodating so I don't have any complaints about the restaurant. I'm reporting the diarrhea because I feel it's important to share this with others (and hopefully Public Health can check out the undercooked beef situation). | Symptoms: Diarrhea
