4/18/18 - purchased two toasted 10 inch hoagies; ham and roast beef with American on wheat roll for my husband. and an Italian with Provolone on a regular roll for me. Both included lettuce and tomato. Within an hour of each eating 1/2 of our sandwiches, we both started experiencing GI upset and mild fever. Symptoms lasted from early afternoon to 9 pm. I assume the cause was the mayo on both sandwiches. We tossed the other 1/2 of our sandwiches. Pity, since the store was very clean and the sandwiches tasted good, but after this experience we won't order Wawa sandwiches in the future. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Fever

Got home about 6pm and had very bad diarrhea with worse stomach cramps. Started having fever, chills, vomiting , and diarrhea all night long. The next day Thursday I felt nauseous, whole body hurts, constant Diarrhea with some vomiting of the water I was doing from feeling dehydrated. This lasted all day into the night. Tried to eat some food, but did not keep much of it down. Friday I still have Diarrhea, cramps,, whole body aches and dehydration. Today Saturday I still have diarrhea, cramps and my knee and hip joints hurt. The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ), in collaboration with the Food Inspection Division of the City of Montreal and Étoile Waldman Inc. Fishmonger, has issued a recall for smoked salmon due to lack of necessary consumption information. The product was sold up until April 3, … See More
2024, exclusively at their establishment located at 4128 Saint-Laurent Boulevard, Montreal. It should be noted that no cases of illness associated with the consumption of this product have been reported to MAPAQ so far.

The product in question is the smoked salmon (all cuts) sold individually by Étoile Waldman Inc. The salmon was packaged in a styrofoam tray covered with clear plastic wrap and sold in a refrigerated state. Units sold until April 3, 2024.

If you have this product at home, do not consume it and we recommend returning it to the store where it was purchased. The recall was initiated by the operator as a precautionary measure. The product should not be consumed if it has been packaged for more than 14 days. Despite no signs of alteration or suspicious odor, consumption may pose a health risk.

If you or a loved one are harmed or experiencing any symptoms, it is important to report it. Reporting can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and enable better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care
