Sushi Food Poisoning

Sushi Food Poisoning

It is possible to get food poisoning from sushi. Salmonella, vibrio, listeria, and parasites are among the risks associated with eating raw fish and raw seafood. In December 2019 Fuji Food Products Inc. recalled ready to eat sushi, salads and spring rolls due to potential listeria contamination.

Almost 6 year old had sushi at beaverton benihana around 4pm today. She was the only one in the party to have sushi, and we (she) eats sushi regularly, 2x per week... but not normally at benihana. 6 year old was totally normal until 7pm tonight (3 … See More
hours after sushi at benihana). Then she suddenly complained of being thirsy and started crying. This was immidiatly followed by aggressive projectile vomiting for the next hour. She continued to vomit every few minutes for 60ish mins, then was dry heaving for the next 45. I tried to make her sip water, but that would come up within 90 seconds every time. She finally fell asleep 2.5 hours after the last sip of water, which was 2 hours past her normal bedtime. No fever. No other symptoms. Just a traumatized kindergartener....  | Symptoms: Nausea, Vomiting
