Sushi Food Poisoning

It is possible to get food poisoning from sushi. Salmonella, vibrio, listeria, and parasites are among the risks associated with eating raw fish and raw seafood. In December 2019 Fuji Food Products Inc. recalled ready to eat sushi, salads and spring rolls due to potential listeria contamination.

The products that are the subject of this warning were offered for sale to the following establishments:

450, boulevard Don-Quichotte, in Notre-Dame -de-l’Île-Perrot
6333, rue Beaubien Est, in Montreal
107, boulevard Cardinal-Léger, in Pincourt
305, boulevard Iberville , in Repentigny

The recalled products include "Zoto Gyoza", "Zoto Avocado Poberge", and "Zoto Shrimp Tempura Rol". These products, sold in transparent plastic containers and refrigerated, may contain allergenic substances not mentioned on the label. The recall applies to all batches of these products whose labels do not include mention of the allergens.

Do not consume recalled products to which you are allergic or sensitive as they may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction; and do not serve, use, sell or distribute recalled products.

In case you experience harm from allergens or undeclared ingredients, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve issues and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.
