Dunnes Stores has issued a recall for its Irish Chicken Sweet & Spicy Wings due to the potential presence of Salmonella. The product was distributed across Ireland.People infected with Salmonella typically develop symptoms between 12 and 36 hours after infection, but this can range between 6 and 72 hours. The illness usually lasts 4 to 7 days. Diarrhoea can occasionally be severe enough to require hospital admission. The elderly, infants, and those with impaired immune systems are more likely to have a severe illness.
The product recalled is the Dunnes Stores Irish Chicken Sweet & Spicy Wings, packaged in 500g sizes. The batch code for the recalled product is 24 290, with a use-by date of 26th October 2024 and carries the approval number IE 814 EC.
Consumers are advised not to eat the implicated batch.
