Recall details: Pero Family Farms Food Company, LLC has initiated a voluntary product recall of its 11oz “Zucchini Spiral Pesto Side Dish Kit” with run number code 1196272F; Use By date of 03/20/2020 due to a product mislabeling which did not declare the allergens of egg and milk. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to these allergens run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.This product was processed by Pero Family Farms Food Company, LLC and distributed under the Pero Family Farms Label in Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Georgia. It is packaged in a flexible clear plastic container with labeling on the top and bottom. The recalled products include various weights of meat cuts and ground meat (list attached below), The products display Julian dates of 330-365 (November 26 - December 31) and 1-47 (January 1 - February 16). The products subject to recall bear the establishment number “EST. 569” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The problem was discovered after the firm received four complaints from restaurants reporting a chemical taste in the meat products. An investigation revealed that the firm's mineral oil supplier had mistakenly sent a drum containing non-food grade mineral seal oil labeled as food grade mineral oil. This non-food grade mineral seal oil was applied to food contact surfaces, not directly to the meat products.
