The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ), in collaboration with the Food Inspection Division of the City of Montreal and Étoile Waldman Inc. Fishmonger, has issued a recall for smoked salmon due to lack of necessary consumption information. The product was sold up until April 3, 2024, exclusively at their establishment located at 4128 Saint-Laurent Boulevard, Montreal. It should be noted that no cases of illness associated with the consumption of this product have been reported to MAPAQ so far.The product in question is the smoked salmon (all cuts) sold individually by Étoile Waldman Inc. The salmon was packaged in a styrofoam tray covered with clear plastic wrap and sold in a refrigerated state. Units sold until April 3, 2024.
If you have this product at home, do not consume it and we recommend returning it to the store where it was purchased. The recall was initiated by the operator as a precautionary measure. The product should not be consumed if it has been packaged for more than 14 days. Despite no signs of alteration or suspicious odor, consumption may pose a health risk.
