The Mediterranean Regional Shellfish Farming Committee has issued a recall for oysters and mussels from the Thau and Bouzigues lagoons due to potential Norovirus contamination. These shellfish were distributed throughout France in retailers and large and medium-sized stores.The recalled products:
- Are branded as "Shells from the Thau and/or Bouzigues lagoon"
- Include all lots of oysters and mussels
- Packaged in wooden crates.
- GTIN: 00000000
- The products have been on the market since December 22, 2025
- Bear a health mark beginning with 34.XXX.XXX.
The recall was mandated by a prefectural decree following the discovery of Norovirus, which poses a risk of gastroenteritis. The recall was announced on December 30, 2025.
