TreeHouse Foods, Inc. (NYSE: THS) is voluntarily recalling one lot of Restaurant Style Italian Dressing sold under the brand name Tuscan Garden. This recall is being conducted because the product is labeled as Restaurant Style Italian Dressing, while some of the bottles may contain Asian Sesame Dressing. The Restaurant Style Italian Dressing label indicates the allergens egg and dairy are in the product while the Asian Sesame Dressing product contains the allergens soy and wheat. Product was distributed nationwide through Aldi between August 23, 2022 and September 23, 2022.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy or wheat run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

The product at issue can be identified by the UPC number and best if used by date which can be found below the neck of the bottle.

TreeHouse Foods discovered the issue after receiving two complaints from the store level. At this time, TreeHouse has not received any reports of an allergic reaction associated with this product.

The FSIS is issuing a public health alert due to concerns that fully cooked summer sausage products may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically plastic. A recall was not requested because the products are no longer available for purchase. These products were shipped to retail locations in... See More Kansas and Missouri and additional locations through online sales. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.

The affected products are:
- 1-lb. chubs containing “JET HIGH PRAIRIE MEATS SUMMER SAUSAGE” with lot code 220715 represented on the label.
- 1-lb. chubs containing “FANTASMA’S finest SUMMER SAUSAGE” with lot code 220715 represented on the label.

These products were produced on July 13, 2022, and bear the establishment number “EST. 31865” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

FSIS is concerned that some products may be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

CDC, public health and regulatory officials in several states, the USDA-FSIS, and the FDA are investigating a multistate outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes infections linked to Deli Meat and Cheese. As of November 9, 2022, 16 people infected with the outbreak strain of Listeria have been reported from... See More 6 states (CA, IL, MD, MA, NJ and NY). 13 people have been hospitalized, 1 person got sick during their pregnancy, resulting in pregnancy loss, and 1 death has been reported from MD. The investigation is ongoing.

Information collected so far shows that deli meat and cheese purchased at deli counters in multiple states are the likely sources of this outbreak. It is difficult for investigators to identify a single food as the source of outbreaks linked to deli meats and cheeses. This is because Listeria spreads easily between food and the deli environment and can persist for a long time in deli display cases and on equipment. A contaminated food likely introduced the outbreak strain of Listeria into delis in multiple states. Investigators are working to identify any specific products or delis that may be contaminated with the outbreak strain.

CDC advises people at higher risk of severe Listeria illness to not eat meat or cheese from any deli counter, unless it is reheated to an internal temperature of 165°F or until steaming hot.
