Recall details: Prima® Wawona of Fresno, California is voluntarily recalling its Wawona, Wawona Organic brand conventional and organic bagged peaches because the product could possibly be contaminated with Salmonella. Salmonella is a microorganism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.
Peaches sold as loose fruit or in bulk are not associated with this recall. Only bagged peaches are included in this recall. The peaches were distributed and sold from June 1st to August 19th in supermarkets with the following product codes:
- Wawona Peaches – 033383322001
- Wawona Organic Peaches – 849315000400
- Prima® Peaches – 766342325903
- Organic Marketside Peaches – 849315000400
- Kroger Peaches – 011110181749
- Wegmans Peaches – 077890490488
The product codes may be found at the bottom of each package. The bagged peaches were distributed through retailers in the following states: Alaska, Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin.
Prima® Wawona is recalling the bagged peaches as a precaution in connection with a Salmonella outbreak under investigation by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that is suspected to have caused the illness of more than 60 people in nine states.
Anyone who has the recalled product in their possession should dispose of it immediately or return it to the place of purchase for a refund. “Last night at about 5:45pm I drove through the drive through there and ordered a chicken sandwich meal with a milk shake. About 2 hours later I become violently ill; throwing up and having diarrhea at the same time. I had to call into work today as I am still have diarrhea and extreme nausea / stoma... ch cramps. ”

“We order ed and had delivered the new cheeseburger pizza and my wife had the wings and spaghetti she is fine but I've had a case of diarrhea about 2 hours after eating only at 4 slices the rest is still in the kitchen probably will not eat it ”

“The CFIA announced the recall of Kootenay Co-op brand beef sausages and burgers by Kootenay Co-op because of the possible presence of pieces of metal and plastic. There have been no reported injuries associated with the consumption of these products.
CFIA advises consumers not to eat the recalled... products and return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. The products were distributed to British Columbia. The recalled product list includes the following lots:

“I am the only one who got sick I ate the sensational chicken salad with fried chicken and had a sweet tea. I was sick, nauseated, vomiting and diarrhea all soon after. I still have the leftovers if they could be tested I would definitely like to know. I have never had food poisoning this bad. I hav... e been sick not with either connoting or diarrhea for about 3 hours. It started at 2:30pm and it’s almost 5:30pm. I ate the salad at 12:30. ”

“I ordered a penne pesto pasta I ate nothing in the morning and I went to college. I was so hungry in my break time that I went to this italian restaurant and ordered penne pesto pasta for my lunch. After having it i went to my college and had class and then came back to home. I still had nothing yet... after that. after coming home my stomach stated to ache a lot and i went to toilet and had my diarhea. I feel nauseous and also went ”

“It was probably the cheeseburger. I ate food around 2:30 started feeling nauseous at 7:30. I’m still not feeling so good after two hours in the bathroom. I know it had to be their food because I did not eat anything else all day. ”

“double cheeseburger Ordered online at 4:13am ate the food approximately 30 mins later and woke up nauseous at 10am and started vomiting 20-30 mins later. I only eat one meal every 24 hours so that’s how I know 100% it was this I don’t get their food often but I got them 3 weeks ago and it also made... me nauseous however I didn’t vomit that time. ”
