Food Safety Report - China Star, Houston Texas

7 months ago reported by user-yvzyy615 business

China Star, Gulf Freeway, Houston, TX, USA

6888 Gulf Freeway, Houston, 77087 Texas, United States

Suspected food poisoning. Symptoms: Diarrhea, Nausea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain, Cramps, Chills
Suspected source: Chinese buffet
Onset: Right away
Duration: 12 to 24 hours
Sick: Me
Additional information: I may have had a low grade fever off and on.. Tuesday, May 27 …around 5 in the afternoon Ate a small amount of food at the buffet.i recall having 1 spare rib, some lo mein a few green beans, hot and sour soup with green onions, 2 pieces of orange chicken and a little broccoli.. I had some ice cream at the end of my meal but I was already feeling sick after my first plate and ended up throwing most of it away. Prior to that meal I had only eaten some pre wrapped chocolate coconut bites earlier in the day. By the time we got to Home Depot in the same shopping strip, I had started to feel worse and gradually was set upon by severe stomach cramps..then after a few hours I started throwing up and was raked with horrible burning and stomach cramping.. I was unable to take a sip of water without vomiting profusely for several hours. I had one episode of diarrhea early during the attack, but once the vomiting started, I was stuck in a state where it felt as though my guts had siezed up and I couldn’t even pass gas.. After several long hours of continuous puking in a trash can at the foot of my bed, It gradually transitioned to severe diarrhea.. which lasted for several more hours.. There was a period of maybe 2-3 hours where I had puking and diarrhea at the same time. This was very inconvenient. I was also sweating and running a low grade fever. The whole poisoning event seemed to last about 24 hours. I am middle aged and don’t have a history of food allergies.. This entire episode seemed very much to correspond with eating at said restaurant. I have already alerted city officials and was contacted by someone who went there to investigate. I am curious as to whether or not this was an isolated incident.. While we were there, it seemed as though they were maybe setting up for a big event, as they had their party room open. I am hoping that no one at their event got sick. My partner had stir fry and peel and eat shrimp, and he didn’t get sick at all. I might have been eating from older trays that were left over from the lunch service.. no telling, but that’s the sickest I have been in many years and I’m relieved that I didn’t have to go to the hospital I don’t have any photos as it was a buffet and I didn’t take anything with me.. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Nausea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain, Cramps, Chills
