Symptoms: Diarrhea Nausea Vomiting

I purchased and ate a Hershey’s bar with Reese’s pieces in it. An hour and a half later I was weak, dizzy and started throwing up for the remainder of the day with bouts of diarrhea. Symptoms have decreased but continued past the 24 hour mark.

I gave him some Tylenol and he went to lay back down. At 7 he jumped out the bed and ran to bathroom and began vomiting. I checked his temp for fear this was beginning of COVID-19. No temp. About an hour later I hear him rush to the bathroom again. He began to vomit. Right after that he had to use the bathroom, diarrhea. Went to CVS to get pedialyte, cough drops (cause now soar throat from vomiting), orange juice and Emergen-C powder. He didnt eat until later on that evening. Chicken noodle soup (NOT from there). The manager said they hadn’t seen any droppings but the inspector found some among the candy, on shelving near the fruit snacks and under the shelves holding those items. Several bags of Hershey’s Kisses were adulterated. The health department said the store needed to close for a week this time to make sure the infestation was eliminated.

“This grocery delivery service delivered 3 boxes of mushrooms that has expired 5 months ago I got sick. I called them & was told it was my fault. I called thier corporate office & was told to have a lawyer call them. I also called minute mushroom the mfgr. 2 weeks later, they are still delivering 4 m... See Moreonth old expired mushrooms. They didn't even bother to remove them from the shelves

They has negligence. they delivered bad mushrooms to me again today. they didnt remove bad food. I think I have to call them to see if a different store can deliver to me. 3 were delivered 3-20 and the other expired was delivered 3-30

See Moreo”, and “Halva with Chocolate” food treats because they have the potential to be contaminated with salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infection in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, producing more severe illnesses infections.

The recalled “Halva” were distributed through Mediterranean food stores and wholesalers in Michigan, Illinois, Missouri, New York, Ohio, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.  Between March 2020 to Feb 2021. Please do not consume the product and immediately dispose of the product or return to 32816 Manor Park Garden City MI 48135. Or to the place of purchase. And send us a note to the email: recalls@kareemmart.com with the return receipt and product purchase date for a full refund.

The products come in 1lb and 2lb plastic tubs. There is only one lot distributed. With Best Before 07-01-2022. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the problem. The potential for contamination was noted after routine testing from samples in the stores by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD).

Production of the product has been suspended while the FDA and the company continue their investigation as to the source of the problem.
