Food Safety Report - Hilton, Bayahíbe La Altagracia

Bayahíbe, 23000 La Altagracia, Dominican Republic
I stayed at Hilton La Romana from May 25 to June 1, 2025. On May 27, I became severely ill and was hospitalized overnight with confirmed bacterial gastroenteritis and severe dehydration. I required IV fluids, antibiotics, and was placed on a restricted diet for several days. All food and drinks were consumed exclusively at the resort. Despite the seriousness of the case, no medical staff from the hotel ever checked on me, and no extra bottled water was provided — even after the hotel was informed of the diagnosis.
What’s more concerning is that the hotel later referred to my condition simply as “gastrointestinal problems,” supposedly caused by fruit, alcohol, or heat — without ever asking for my medical report. This deliberate understatement appears to be an attempt to downplay a serious, confirmed medical incident.
Medical Report available upon request | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain, Dehydration, Gas
