Our family ate at Jack's on Sunday 08/21/16 around 2pm. My 7 yr old grandson & I shared a salad (blue cheese dressing), turkey, ham & bacon club sandwich with seasoned fries. My husband had the "special" -crab cakes eggs Benedict & our son had the regular eggs Benedict. I had water, my grandson had Sprite, my husband and son had coffee. All food tasted fine.
Both my husband and son had violent episodes of diarrhea within 2 hours and again (multiple times) the following morning. My grandson had a mild episode Sunday night around 9pm and has had multiple episodes starting around 9am Monday. I have some (very) complicated medical issues and some medications I take require me to also take a vegetable laxative to "keep things regular" (meaning I typically have difficulty going to the bathroom and it's likely why I wasn't affected Sunday). As a precaution I skipped my dose Sunday night. Starting at 4am I have experienced 8 episodes of diarrhea. We have all had to take multiple doses of Imodium to help calm the gastrointestinal distress (which almost 20 hours later is still ongoing for all of us).
Nobody has had vomiting or fever. My grandson has had a headache which is likely due to slight dehydration.
Because of my health issues I am at high risk of severe complications if I get dehydrated so have taken precautions by injecting emergency dose steroids and drinking high dose electrolyte enhanced water (I have Addison's Disease/Adrenal Insufficiency).
I called the restaurant about 10am Monday and asked to speak with the manager. The gentleman that answered stated he was the manager for the shift and asked to help me. I explained what happened stating that our food tasted fine, the service was fine but we all ended up with gastric distress (aka diarrhea) and wanted to let them know in case they had other reports. He said he would make a report of it but did not ask for any other information. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Gas, Dehydration, Headache, Fever
