Well as I’ve been on my “Lucky Charms Obsession” (that’s what my sister calls it@ I have noticed that I am having significant abdominal pain, gas, and diarrhea. When I pass gas it smells very foul but almost has a Lucky Charms smell to it. When I have diarrhea it literally is GREEN and it smells foul but also semi-sweet. It smells like Lucky Charms. I’ve had 4 different people tell me that. I also can’t seem to hold it. Like when I eat Lucky Charms and my stomach starts cramping, making weird noises, and getting gassy I have to go to the bathroom immediately. I don’t know what’s going on with Lucky Charms but I can 100% say it is the Lucky Charms causing this because I literally don’t eat any else. Well now I’m fixing to have to because this hurts so much and is so uncomfortable. I just want to know what is going on because I haven’t seen or heard of a recall and I know several people have reported this. I figured since General Mills has done anything about it or even acknowledged there could be a problem with it to the public that I might as well go ahead and tell my story too. Wismettac Asian Foods, Inc. is recalling 17.6 oz packages of Marutomo Dashi Soup Base because they may contain undeclared wheat and soy. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to wheat and soy run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these... See More products. The product was distributed in California and Nevada through restaurants and retail stores. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this issue.
The product comes in a 17.6 oz, blue plastic package with a sticker label in English on the back side of the package. The affected Best Before dates were distributed between July 1, 2021 and July 22, 2022. The UPC for the product is 074410374020. The recall was initiated after it was discovered that the product containing wheat and soybean was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of wheat and soybean.
Subsequent investigation indicates the problem was caused by a human error during product label checking process. The distribution of the product has been ceased until the company is certain that the problem has been corrected. Consumers who have purchased the product are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
