On October 1, 2025, I bought Chef Woo Roasted Chicken Flavour Ramen (plant-based) from Safeway in Surrey, BC. The best-before date was May 20, 2024—over a year expired. Upon opening, the noodles had a strong rancid, synthetic smell. Since plant-based ramen often includes unfamiliar dehydrated ingredients, I assumed the scent might be normal. I consumed it and became violently ill within hours—severe vomiting and diarrhea.
