I’ve drank almost a whole bottle of Benner, their, diet, peach tea and got violently ill, pretty quickly: throwing up but then after it all came up, I had dry heaves for 5.5 more hours, explosive diarrhea at the same time and became so weak. I called... See More my doctor he right away suggested it was food poisoning from the tea and asked me if I thought the peach tea had turned, and then prescribed Zofran to stop the vomiting. My husband picked up the Zofran right before the only Walgreens that was still open was about to close. This was Monday, February 27 and today is the 28th. I layed in bed all day Tuesday and couldn’t eat. I am still nauseous but better. I noticed the skin of my lips were peeling off either from the acid from my stomach or from being dehydrated, which is not something I normally get. I will return the product to the manager when I feel I can stand up long enough to do that. I had trouble with their fresh chicken a few years ago, but I kept being a loyal customer. I just stopped buying the Chicken. Now I will stop buying the diet peach tea. Also, I might add that today Tuesday I was so wiped out from weakness. I slept on my neck wrong and now I Have a lidocaine patch on my neck from the pain. I am 67 years old. Had a couple of ham sandwiches for lunch around 12. After about a half hour or so, I had a serious migraine with light sensitivity and missing patches in my visual field; this is my body's typical reaction to food poisoning. See More felt extremely nauseated and began projectile vomiting in short bursts over the next five hours, each wave lasting about ten to twenty minutes, starting with a few small chunks and ending with around 3 really huge volumes of ham sandwich forcing it's way out; this is the first time I've had such a severe reaction. I have also felt freezing cold the entire time as well as now, even while wrapped in a robe and under 3 blankets in a warm room. In between projectile vomiting bursts I felt nauseated, and had trouble focusing and even speaking. I also had (and still have) a distinct numbness in my hands, and I still have a hellacious headache now - 8 and a half hours later - that throbs every time I move my head and especially upon standing . The numbness and the headache are possibly side-effects from dehydration and electrolyte loss after the intense vomiting fits; it took roughly 8 hours of vomiting before I could even keep liquids down.
All ingredients used for the sandwiches were purchased just yesterday; travel time from the store to home is a matter of minutes and the food was put away as soon as we arrived home. The sandwiches were eaten right after they were made.
I cannot be 100% certain if it was the ham or the mayonnaise that got me sick.
