The symptoms described probably are from a virus. Don't you know the flu is going around. It is WIDESPREAD in MANY states and REGIONAL in most other states. It wouldn't hurt if people (especially sick people) kept themselves away from others until flu season is over. At least as much as possible. We are enjoying shopping from home. Actually finding great prices and free delivery online. Don't have to drive anywhere thus avoiding traffic/weather/sick people. Saving money on gas. Don't have to lug bulky/heavy items around the store, put them into the car, unload when you get home. All you do is shop and wait for the stuff to show up at your door.

The Seattle & King County Public Health is investigating an outbreak of salmonellosis linked to CrackleMi Café located at North 35th Street in Seattle. The PH department advised that all people they interviewed reported eating a different type of banh mi sandwich (e.g., pork, chicken, and egg... See More banh mi). To date, three people reported becoming sick with one or more symptoms consistent with salmonellosis, including nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, bloody stool, and fever. All three cases had lab testing confirmation of a Salmonella infection. Illness onset dates ranged since August 21, 2023.

The Health Dept investigators visited the restaurant on September 19 and 20, 2023, and observed factors that may have contributed to the outbreak such as risk of cross-contamination, improper handwashing, and improper glove use. The restaurant voluntarily closed on September 20, 2023, to clean and disinfect. Public Health Investigators will verify cleaning and disinfection prior to reopening. Public Health research has not identified any ill employees.

In case you are experiencing Salmonella symptoms, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.

The Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service Public Health unit is managing a Hepatitis A case linked to an employee of the Gympie Returned and Services League of Australia (RSL). The ongoing investigation includes the Public Health Unit working with the RSL management, aiming to identify and... See More contact all potentially exposed individuals who face a high risk of developing Hepatitis A.

The call extends to anyone who visited the Gympie RSL from July 2023 onwards. The aim is for these individuals to keep a close eye on their own health and that of their family members, and to consult their General Practitioner for testing should they experience any Hepatitis A symptoms.

Hepatitis A is an acute viral infection that can spread from person to person via the faecal-oral route, essentially when contaminated matter is ingested. Initial symptoms may include fever, gastro, holistic aches and pains, nausea, lack of appetite, and abdominal discomfort. The earliest specific symptom usually is dark urine, followed within a few days by jaundice (yellow skin and eyes) and light-coloured bowel movement. From the moment of exposure to the virus, it typically takes an average of 4 weeks (between 2 and 7 weeks) to begin showing symptoms.

Preventative measures against spreading Hepatitis A are imperative, with high handwashing standards and good hygiene being key. Individuals who are ill are advised against attending work or childcare facilities, while vaccination against Hepatitis A also offers protection.

In case you experienced Hepatitis A symptoms, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve issues and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance.
