Report Type: Food Poisoning
Symptoms: Diarrhea Nausea Vomiting Other Cramps Dehydration
“My father and his two friends got food from there. All three got sick (nausea, vomiting, cramps, diahrrea about an hour after eating. The friends got better after a few days, but dad got worse.
Steadily worse.
Over time he was vomiting everything he ate and could only handle fluids.... See More Over the next few weeks he had the following: Increased abdominal pain, diahrrea, vomiting, dehydration, lethargy.
Dad kept getting worse, he thought It might be stomach flu, but I didn't. Dad missed Doctor's appointments (he's on dialysis) on and off, for about a month. He got so sick he missed 2 appointments in a row and hadn't had dialasys for 5 days - which is VERY BAD.
With his dialasis, he sometimes got sick after, but this was different. He was literally screaming in pain and delerious.
They took him away in an ambulance, screaming in agony. He stayed in hospiral 11 days.
Turned out he had an abdominal obstruction and severe inflammation and infection, caused by.....severe food poisoning. They put him on an I.V, had to sedate him, give him strong pain meds, shoved a tube up his nose and into his bowrls. They drained several LITERS of infected fluid from his intestines. They told me that if he'd waited one more day, he'd have died. Died.
This all goes back to the day he went to there. They have always been crappy; missing more thsn one item, wrong change and more than once my hamburger or egg mcmuffin was ice cold and so stale, it seemed like it was in the first stages of rigor mortis. Plus the fries were burned more than once and I'd gotten attitude (from regular staff, not the msnagers) whenever I had to go back and fix the issue (I'd stopped going there way before my dad got sick).
I don't know if any others have suffered food poisoning and/or dysentery at the hands of this particular reasturant, but I wouldn't be surprised.
But, after ALL THIS, nobody I know will even go near that place again!!!

Coronavirus or Food Poisoning? Information about the current outbreak.

Report Type: Outbreak
“There is some confusion surrounding the current Coronavirus (called 2019-NocV) outbreak that began in December 2019 and whether you can get it through food. Here is some information:

What is Coronavirus?
Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses found in both animals and humans. Past outbreaks include Middle East Respiratory... See More Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). The current novel Coronavirus (a new strain that has not been previously identified in humans) is thought to originate in live food markets in Wuhan, China through animals and human contact.

How is it transmitted?
Coronaviruses such as the current 2019-NocV are transmitted through the respiratory system, not the gut, so there is a low risk of infection through the consumption of contaminated food. Restaurants can be a site of transmission of coronavirus because of the large numbers of people congregating in close quarters and then coughing/sneezing could spread the disease just like in other places (transportation, schools, etc). But the food itself isn’t a likely vehicle.

Signs of infection?
Common signs of infection include respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. In more severe cases and those with weakened immune systems, an infection can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure, and even death.

Recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO):
Standard recommendations to prevent infection spread include regular hand washing, covering mouth+nose when coughing/sneezing, and avoiding close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness such as coughing and sneezing.

Report Type: Food Poisoning
Symptoms: Diarrhea Chills Body Ache
“My husband and I shared a green smoothie on a Saturday afternoon. On Sunday, I had a rumbly stomach and then diarrhea for hours. The next morning, my husband woke up with the same thing, plus crawly skin, achiness and the chills. (This is how food poisoning always affects him.)... See More Neither of us have vomited, but it's Tuesday, and we both still have stomach pain and fatigue. No one else around is or had been ill, and the smoothie is the only thing we had all weekend that was different than everyone else in the family. I'm always cautious about consuming smoothies out, just because there is a risk the produce and the equipment maybe aren't as carefully washed as they are when I make them at home. Our delayed response makes sense to us, since it takes a while for some pathogens to multiply and make themselves known in the body. This was our first time eating (drinking) here and it'll likely be our last, unfortunately.
