The school had to close because they could not adequately staff the building, and Waterford Township School District Superintendent Dr. Brenda Harring sent a letter to parents explaining the situation and how they are acting about this situation.
Caryelle Lasher with the Camden County Health Department said: "Many of the people who consumed the lunch are now reporting illness with symptoms like diarrhea, fatigue, nausea, vomiting". The investigation is ongoing by the Camden County Health Department.
According to the news, the caterer of the event was Roma Pizza located in Berlin Township. They posted an apology on their social media site for those affected. The restaurant is closed until further notice, while health officials investigate the cause of these illnesses.
Caryelle Lasher stated, “The establishment voluntarily closed so that we can really conduct a thorough investigation of food storage, the property, the health and wellness of the employees there and really try to identify what went wrong here”.
