87107, USA. The recall was initiated after the firm discovered that it had not completed a hazard analysis for potential C. botulinum growth and toxin production in its processing, storage, and shipping of raw onions into vacuum-sealed bags. The recall is ongoing.

The recalled product is branded as Onion Yellow Med 3 Outer Rings, packaged in a 5 LB vacuum sealed, clear plastic bag. The product bears a white paper label with the following information:
- Blake's (Richmond) Onion Yellow Med 3 Outer Rings 4-5 LB PO# 047981
- Lot#787806-6883R5, 795046-3948R1, 787806-6883R3, 795046-3948R2
- Use By Date of 04/03/2024.
A total of 23 cases have been recalled.

If you have this product at home, do not consume it and return it to the store where it was purchased.

Clostridium botulinum is a bacterium that produces a potent neurotoxin. If you consume food contaminated with this bacterium, it can lead to botulism, a serious illness. Symptoms include muscle weakness and paralysis, including in the muscles used for breathing. This condition can be fatal if not treated promptly and properly. The bacterium thrives in low-oxygen environments, such as improperly canned or preserved foods.

In case you experience Botulism symptoms such as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain, report it now. It can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.

the next day. Feeling really bloated and full to the point of uncomfortable. I started to take lactaid for the milk digestion. Thinking it’s the milk. The day before yesterday I got sick to my stomach and no food or liquid stayed down. Diarrhea and vomiting dehydration lead to leg cramps and fatigue. So I fasted for over 24 hours. Today I had one all meat meal. Plain burger patty and bratwurst. A few hours later I had a bowl of morning summit almond cereal and shortly after that I started feeling gassy and bloated again. Like food didn’t make it down to my belly and it’s stuck where my esophagus and stomach meet. Painful and feeling as if it’s making my tummy bloat more as the night goes on. I’m tossing and turning and burping and farting and diarrhea came back. WTH. I’m not blaming the yesterdays stomach sickness on the morning summit cereal but I am concerned that it’s having a negative effect on my digestion and causing the cramping bloating and gas in my stomach. I was concerned I had a really big problem but after reading other folks concerns after eating this cereal I’m convinced it’s the cereal as it’s the only new thing that I’ve added to my diet lately. I will report back after tomorrow and I fast again to release this pressure and hopefully gain my normal digestion back. I’d like to note: I’m 42yo 5’5” tall with 15% body fat. I weight 160lbs. Exercise regularly and I have no known allergies. My wife on the other hand ate some with me and she seems to be doing fine. Purchased at Costco, and this box I brand new.. Bought oh snap! Pickles, took one bite it tasted soooo foul. I spit it right back out and after looking at it there was mold. I was gagged... Returned them and immediately payed $7 for the tiniest bottle of mouthwash because I was so scared of food poisoning. Check your pickles always?!
