2019 CASA Baltimore conference - Patrick Quade talked about food safety in the digital age

Patrick Quade, founder of IWasPoisoned.com and DineSafe.org recently was a featured speaker at the 2019 Central Atlantic States Association of Dairy Food and Drug Officials (CASA) in their Baltimore conference held on Sept 17 where he talked about food safety in a digital age using social media.

Also, Patrick had the opportunity to talk about how sites as iwaspoisoned.com crowdsource information and how this information can be integrated as an extra tool for the surveillance of foodborne illnesses by public health departments. This was the only talk related to food safety on this summit, with great feedback from the attendees.

See More a CT Scan, ekg, and a urinalysis, all to check for kidney stones, appendicitis, gallbladder, or anything else they could find. My heart beat was said to be “beating weird.” Everything came back normal with no idea what could be wrong. I was told to go in to see my primary care physician if symptoms continued. I now have an appointment in a few days for that. The pain in my abdomen has lessened but the dizziness and nausea is so bad now that when I get up to walk, I stumble to my right, losing my balance, feeling like I’m going to pass out. My head constantly feels like it’s spinning. I can’t properly function as mom and wife because of this. Knowing what I know now, I will be telling my doctor in hopes there’s something that can be done to help me. I’m so scared of what damage has been done. Two weeks ago, and again today. Jose ole beef and cheese chimichangas Two weeks ago, I didn't know what caused my illness and I was in so much pain I went to urgent care.
Two weeks ago I was having horrible stomach pain, diarrhea, nausea it was... See More so intense I went to urgent care. I was dehydrated and my WBC was high, they gave me a saline iv and sent me home with bentyl.
It eventually calmed down after a couple days of a liquid diet and bentyl for the stomach cramps that felt like waves of building intensity. I thought nothing more of it, until today.
It started up again about 4 hours after eating a Jose Ole beef and cheese chimichanga that was purchased from Walmart, same symptoms as before. I only just now made the connection and I am so sad about it.. I love those things.
