Cargill Meat Solutions announced a recall of ground beef products (approx 132,606 pounds) due to possible E.Coli contamination. This recall is made after 18 E.Coli ilnesses were confirmed and ground beef products identified as the source of these illnesses acording to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) investigation.

CTI Foods LLC recalled over 6,720 pounds of ready to eat Philly Beef Steak products that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. These items were shipped to a food service warehouse in Hamilton, Ohio and further distributed to several food service locations, according to the recall notice on U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) website.

No illnesses have been linked to this case as of Sept. 13th. Anyone with concerns about the illness or anyone who has developed symptoms should contact a healthcare provider and inform them about possible exposure to the bacteria.

The latest update from the FDA ongoing investigation revealed that 24 more ill people were added to this Salmonella outbreak, and the total infected count now rises up to 38 people, in 7 states (Colorado, Iowa, Kentucky, Ohio, and Montana now added). 10 people have been hospitalized; no deaths have been reported.

Wayne Farms, LLC, issued a recall of approximately 438,960 pounds of frozen, fully cooked chicken products that may be contaminated with metal pieces according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

 

The recall involves various frozen, ready-to-eat, fully cooked chicken products. If you bought these products, do not consume them, throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.
