The outbreak, reported on June 28, 2026, resulted in symptoms such as diarrhea and vomiting among those on board the ship, which carried 3,032 passengers and 1,144 crew members.

The outbreak was identified when an increasing number of passengers and crew reported gastrointestinal symptoms to the ship's medical center. The medical staff evaluated these reports, confirming the presence of norovirus. Princess Cruises promptly implemented enhanced cleaning and disinfection procedures, isolated affected individuals, and collected stool samples for further testing.
