Update Oct 13th 2022: The Ohio Department of Agriculture announced Wednesday 12th on behalf of Bluffton Baking Co. that the company was recalling its pumpkin pie stuffed cheesecake cookies because of a possible link to salmonella illnesses. People who had purchased the cookies from Sept. 30 through Oct. 4 in Hancock or Putnam county markets were advised not to consume them. Several northwest Ohio residents have recently gotten sick with salmonella believed to be linked to the cookies.Original Article:
Allen County Public Health (ACPH) is investigating a potential Salmonella outbreak likely linked to baked goods prepared at a home bakery and distributed at establishments in Allen, Hancock and Putnam Counties.
ACPH was notified by Hancock County regarding a multi-county Salmonella outbreak with illness onsets currently ranging from Oct. 1-6, 2022. As of Monday, Allen County had 1 confirmed case. Chances of other counties being affected is possible.
