Whitsons RTC Chicken Alfredo with broccoli & penne pasta meals - recalled due to Misbranding & Allergen

The FSIS announced the recall of approximately 8,713 pounds of frozen, ready-to-cook chicken alfredo with broccoli and penne pasta meals by Whitson’s Food Service (Bronx) Corp. due to misbranding and undeclared allergens. The product contains egg, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label.... See More These products were shipped to institutional locations, including schools, in New York and Pennsylvania. While the product was distributed to schools, it was through a commercial sale and was not part of the food provided by the USDA for the National School Lunch Program. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.
The recalled products are:
- 13.7-lb. boxes containing 30 plastic trays of 7.3-oz. meals containing “Chicken Alfredo with Broccoli & Penne Pasta” with a best if used by date of 1/25/24, product code number 903419 and lot number W01252308897.
- 13.7-lb. boxes containing 30 plastic trays of 7.3-oz. meals containing “Chicken Strips over WW Penne Pasta with Alfredo Sauce & Broccoli” with a best if used by of date 1/31/24, product code number 403127 and lot number W01312307698.
These products were produced on January 25, 2023, and January 31, 2023 and bear establishment number “P-32073” inside the USDA mark of inspection.
FSIS is concerned that some products may be in institutional freezers. Institutions are urged not to serve these products. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

This update was issued to reflect additional date codes and increase product poundage from approximately 8,492,832 pounds to approximately 8,955,296 pounds. The recalled product names and product codes remain the same. While the product was distributed to schools, it resulted from a commercial sale and was not part of food provided by the USDA for the National School Lunch Program.

Tyson Foods recalled approximately 8.5 million pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) chicken products that may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes
The frozen, fully cooked chicken products were produced between December 26, 2020, and April 13, 2021, but some products may be in consumer and institutional freezers. Consumers should not eat these products. Institutions should not serve these products. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
They were shipped throughout the US including: retailers, institutions, including hospitals, nursing facilities, restaurants, schools, and Department of Defense locations.
Products include frozen, fully cooked chicken strips, diced chicken, chicken wing sections, and fully cooked pizza with chicken
Products were sold under many brands including Tyson, Jet’s Pizza, Casey’s General Store, Marco’s Pizza, and Little Caesars.
Consumption of food contaminated with L. monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, a serious infection that primarily affects older adults, persons with weakened immune systems, and pregnant women and their newborns.
What to do:
Call your healthcare provider if you have these symptoms after eating recalled products:
> If you are pregnant: Fever and muscle aches. Your illness may be mild, but Listeria can cause pregnancy loss or premature birth. It can also cause serious illness or death in newborns.
> If you are not pregnant: Headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, and convulsions, in addition to fever and muscle aches.
