Meat Food Poisoning

You can get food poisoning from all types of meat. Chicken and beef are the most consumed meats and are a high risk of causing food poisoning. Meat contamination can occur during processing, manufacturing, or preparation if mishandled. Common bacteria contamination includes salmonella and E.coli.

to date, the recall is of particular importance to individuals with sensitivities to the allergens listed or those with celiac disease or other gluten-induced illnesses.

The products in question include

- Meatball Soup Matzoh (900ml). Allergens: Wheat/Soya. Lots: All lots of which the label does not include the mention of the presence of allergens
- Chicken and Noodle Soup (900ml). Allergens: Wheat/Soya. Lots: All lots of which the label does not include the mention of the presence of allergens
- White Beans & Barley (900ml). Allergens: Soya. Lots: All lots of which the label does not include the mention of the presence of allergens
- Garlic Sauce (230g). Allergens: Sulfites. Lots: All lots of which the label does not include the mention of the presence of allergens
- Saffron Aioli (230g). Allergens: Sulfites. Lots: All lots of which the label does not include the mention of the presence of allergens
- Tzatziki Sauce (230g). Allergens: Sulfites (This product could also contain nuts). Lots: All lots of which the label does not include the mention of the presence of allergens
- Andarra Sauce (230g). Allergens: Sulfites (This product could also to contain wheat, of the mustard, from sesame or groundnuts). Lots: All lots of which the label does not include the mention of the presence of allergens

All lots of these products, packaged in transparent plastic containers and sold refrigerated, are included in the recall. The label of the products included, in addition to their name, the words “Phil's Good”. The issue was identified during routine inspections by MAPAQ and the Food Inspection Division of the City of Montreal.

People who are sensitive to the allergens listed above or those with celiac disease are advised not to consume the recalled products. They must return it to the establishment where they bought it.

In case you experience harm from allergens or undeclared ingredients, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve issues and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.

Instructed to clean and sanitize equipment and maintain food contact surfaces. Priority foundation violation. #7-38-005. Citation issued.

38. Insects, rodents, & animals not present
- comments: observed approximately 100 small black live flies throughout the prep area on the wall near the microwave, inside the corner space where the utility sink is located, on rolling carts where clean kitchenware is stored, throughout dry storage, and flying near drains where the ice machine is placed. Recommended to contact pest control for service. Must eliminate pest activity. Priority foundation violation. 7-38-020 (a). Citation issued.

48. Warewashing facilities: installed, maintained & used; test strips
- comments: observed broken wash gauge on low-temperature dishmachine located in rear prep area. Instructed to replace or repair. Must maintain equipment to ensure utensils are being properaly washed and sanitized. Priority foundation violation. #7-38-005. Citation issued.

55. Physical facilities installed, maintained & clean
- comments: observed walls crumbling and in poor condition throughout prep area in the following places. . . Wall entering kitchen area, next to hot water dispenser in front prep area, behind 3 compartment sink across from ovens in prep, on wall (to the wall base) separating dish machine room from prep area. Instructed to provide smooth and easily cleanable surfaces throughout kitchen and maintain.

55. Physical facilities installed, maintained & clean
- comments: observed broken wall base and detached base (black) throughout kitchen area. Instructed to repair and maintain to prevent breeding spaced for pest.

- comments: observed burned-out light bulbs in the ceiling in the rear prep area near the 3-compartment sink. Instructed to replace and intensify lighting.
