Flew from LAX to Auckland on 11/13/22 and had a layover in Dallas. I ate their cold chicken with salad for dinner and their fruit and yogurt for breakfast. I became violently I’ll with vomiting, diarrhea, headache, and cramping. I had to go to the urgent care... in New Zealand and spend hundreds of dollars. Ate some Chobani plain Greek yogurt this morning and it tore my stomach up. Cramps, chills, nausea, even my head felt fuzzy. I have had this before few times but thought it was a new medication I had started now I know it was the yogurt as... this today is the exact same symptoms. The cramps are debilitating. The FDA is currently investigating an outbreak of Listeria Monocytogenes. As of November 09, 2022, a total of 2 people infected with Listeria monocytogenes have been reported. No specific product has been linked to this investigation as of today. This investigation is ongoing.
According to CDC, Listeriosis... is a serious infection usually caused by eating food contaminated with the bacterium Listeria monocytogenes, and Listeria outbreaks are often linked to dairy products and produce.
Some CDC recommendations to prevent Listeriosis:
- Do not eat raw or lightly cooked sprouts of any kind (including alfalfa, clover, radish, and mung bean sprouts).
- Don’t let juice from hot dogs and lunch meat packages get on other foods, utensils, and food preparation surfaces. For people at higher risk avoid eating hot dogs, lunch meats, cold cuts, other deli meats, or fermented or dry sausages unless they are heated to an internal temperature of 165°F or until steaming hot just before serving. Wash hands after handling hot dogs, lunch meats, and deli meats
- Only consume pasteurized milk and milk products, including soft cheese, ice cream, and yogurt. Look for the word “pasteurized” on the label. If in doubt, don’t buy it!
- Eat cut melon right away or refrigerate it. Throw away cut melons left at room temperature for more than 4 hours.

I purchased chobani yogurt and from the date it isn’t expired. I have a habit of eating one as my last snack of the day. For the last 2 days I couldn’t understand why I was feeling ill but after tonight I paid closer attention to how... I felt . After a couple bites something told me it was the yogurt I stopped eating it but about 30 minutes went by and I started feeling sick. It wasn’t until I ate this so tomorrow I will cut it out and see if it makes a difference. I’ve always grab the packages from the back especially when it’s a refrigerated item. I’ve always purchased from here and never had a problem. Love the freshness of all their products. But lately the fruit , eggs and now this I’ll purchase elsewhere because my fruit goes bad next day or next two days mold grows and eggs are no good . Yesterday after my breakfast of less sugar Greek yogurt made by Chobani, I felt nauseated and had chills. Today after eating the yogurt I again got nauseated and uncontrollable chills. | Symptoms: Nausea, Chills

Suspected food poisoning. Symptoms: other: Hives (Hospital)
Suspected source: Not sure. I don‘t think any intentional ingredients did it.
Onset: Very soon after. Like a few seconds.
Duration: Not sure.
Sick: Just me.
Additional information: I was three when it happened. I have only partial memory of... the incident, but I decided to solve the mystery myself when it happened. The dish was a Greek yogurt with Mixed Berries. After the first bite, a hive appeared shortly after. My parents got a little confused and decided they either saw it wrong, or was harmless. They still hesitated my second bite, but that second spoonful made me break out in hives and I had to go to the hospital. It never happened again, and different yogurts were just fine. I never had the yogurt again, but my parents decided to check the ingredients two years later. They saw nothing suspicious or wrong, and that left them confused and stumped. They overall gave up in the search, but I was stubborn enough to continue. As a nine year-old, I had an allergy test including strawberries and blueberries which both posed as non-allergenic to me. Both Greek yogurt and granola I have eaten many times, which I can consider myself fine to. So I believe the mystery allergen was a form of bacteria or germ that was most likely unintentional. I have gained no further evidence, and I figured this could lead to answers, or maybe even save some innocent victims a visit to the hospital. | Symptoms: Other
On Wednesday Oct 12 my wife developed food poisoning which lasted for a further 3 days. We suspected it was the Greek yogurt. Some days earlier she bought 3 cartons with expiry dates of Oct 23 & I noticed after she had been taken ill that the... 2 unopened cartons had now swelled up - pushing up the plastic lids.
At about the same time we noticed that a litre of Coverdale long lasting milk with an expiry date of
Oct 26 had also gone off. At all times these products have been stored in our fridge.
I noticed on Saturday on the internet that a report had already been made concerning greek yogurt in Dorset.
Today we took these items to the store & I am glad to say that there was no problem over a refund.
I am however concerned that somewhere along the line these products have been properly stored by them. It may have been during delivery or a breakdown in the store freezer. The earlier report of yogurt stated it was Dorset (not the store) so I would suggest the problem arose somewhere along the transport delivery.
