I bought a 1lb package of frozen squid called calamari rings. After I cooked and ate it, I felt very sick and nausea . I suspect that the squid was illegally preserved in formalin to keep it from getting rotten. The squid rings also taste very horrible... so we bought the enntemmens mini powdered donuts from here on March 1. I opened one of the mini packages today. Add started eating them and realized they had a very bad chemical aftertaste. We stayed here. On day 2 my toddler and I got sick. I had nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach cramps for 8 hours straight that wouldn’t stop. My daughter was vomiting. We both had to be treated off the resort at Hosptien Bavaro for bacterial intestinal infections and... See More dehydration . We got back to the resort and my husband start with nausea and diarrhea. He was also hospitalized for 3 days. We don’t know what it was that we ate or drank that caused this. We were super careful about our food choices at the buffet and beach side restaurant. The hotel is useless in helping or making things right after spending half your trip in the hospital. They take your report and that’s it. Nothing else is done for you. Stay away from this resort and the DR. They make lots of money making tourists sick. Several people from this resort were also at the hospital.
