Honey nut cheerios

I've never had any issues eating Cheerios until recently. Every time I eat them now, I end up with stomach cramping and diarrhea approximately 4 hours later. I know it's the cheerios because the stool smells strongly of it. | Symptoms: Diarrhea See Less

Probably was a stomach virus. Not Cheerios.

Hi, thanks for your comment. According to the CDC “stomach bug” is one of the common ways to call Norovirus, along with “stomach flu”. Norovirus is a very contagious virus that causes vomiting and diarrhea and it is the leading cause of foodborne illness. You can get norovirus from:

- Having direct contact with an infected person.

- Consuming contaminated food or water.

- Touching contaminated surfaces and then putting your unwashed hands in your mouth.

Hi, thanks for your comment. According to the CDC, you may hear norovirus illness be called “food poisoning,” “stomach flu,” or “stomach bug.” Noroviruses are the leading cause of foodborne illness, but other germs and chemicals can also cause foodborne illness.

I have eaten Honey Nut Cheerios for decades and I have never had any issues until recently. I originally thought it might be a one off thing, but the pattern doesn't lie. Whenever I eat these cheerios, I get severe cramps that never end well. I don't... See More know if the ingredients have changed, but I do know that after many, many, many years of enjoying Honey Nut Cheerios, I can no longer eat them. It has also prevented me from eating any of their other varieties. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Cramps See Less

Monday, May 22nd Cheerios Oat Crunch with Almonds My husband and I both were very sick- he was sick for 2 days, I’m still dealing with it. Only thing we both ate that day that was the same. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Nausea, Vomiting See Less

Every time in the past year I have eaten Cheerios, it makes me bloated and gives me diarrhea. For a while I thought it was the milk, but no matter what milk I use, I am always sick afterward. This has happened with both Honey Nut and Frosted Cheerios. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Bloating See Less

Cheerios Oat Crunch Cinnamon / Lot RBCI16:011
On 5/13 and on 5/20 I experienced diarrhea after eating Cheerios Oat Crunch Cinnamon - the only commonality between the two events one week apart. The queasiness and loose stools lasted 48 hours. | Symptoms: Diarrhea See Less

For the past two years my now 11 year old daughter has suffered daily with agonizing stomach pain diarrhea bloating and gas .after several Dr appts the Dr recommended cutting out dairy products and symptoms were not relieved and she still continued to have all symptoms previously... See More described .Cheerios being one of her favorite foods was eaten often even outside of breakfast as another meal replacement or snack.it never crossed my mind that this could be a culprit to her stomach issues .it was not until recently when she took a liking to rice Chex that I stopped purchasing Cheerios and noticed that she no longer had any of thee stomach issues that had experienced and were puzzling to me and the drs .I do clearly suspect there is something in Cheerios that triggers these health issues and gastional problems .I am confident there's a direct correlation between Cheerios and the sicknesses she has endured. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Bloating, Stomach Pain, Gas See Less

I ate 3 handfuls of honey nut Cheerios and within a few hours IV had diarrhea. IV had this issue for several months with only honey nut Cheerios. I don't know what they put in it. But this is nonsense. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea See Less

last night I ate a bowl of honey nut cheerios as a late night snack & then went back to bed. I woke up an hour or 2 later (probably 3 or 4am) with a horrible stomach ache as well as intensely painful cramps that came &... See More went I ended up spending the rest of the night on the toilet because every time I would leave I ended up having to come right back. while sitting on the toilet I started to feel very very warm over a very short period of time, this was accompanied by sweating & slight disorientation/dizzyness. the over heated feeling probably lasted for 5 or 10 minutes but it felt like an hour. when I was finally feeling well enough to leave the toilet & go back to bed it was light out (7am) & almost time for me to start getting ready for work :( | Symptoms: Cramps, Sweating, Stomach Pain See Less
