Lucky Charms

Violently ill after eating Lucky Charms cereal. Headache, Nausea, stomach pain, intestinal gurgling, green diarrhea, hives. Sick for 2 days, going on 3 now. A google search led me to find out that the FDA is investigating after receiving thousands of reports.

08/24 update: I have a... See More friend who also got sick from a box. He, his girlfriend, and his kid all got sick after eating them. Which leads me to think his box and my box were both from same location. But honestly, that’s just a guess. I still have the empty box, I ate the cereal on Friday night 8-19, today 8-23 the symptoms are finally starting to subside. I really only filed the claim to help you guys see just how many people have been effected, because most people probably won’t think their food poisoning came from a cereal. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Something else, Headache, Stomach Pain See Less

Last few weeks, Not sure, but she was eating almost nothing but LC for many days due to no appetite. My daughter doesn't often feel much hunger, but the last few weeks, she has had none.  I took the fam to dinner last night. She ate one... See More half of one french fry.  I don't think we would have traced it to the cereal, but now that you mention it...... | Symptoms: Other See Less

I eat a lot of Lucky Charms. Perhpas this is it? I experienced severe abdominal cramps and pain, gas, and frequent runny bowl movements for about 3 days. I bought them at Walgreens on Broad St in Pawtucket, RI, and, unusually for me, at Shaw's Supermarket, Taunton Avenue, East Providence, RI | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Cramps, Gas, Stomach Pain See Less

Lucky Charmes contains TSP=Trisodium Phosphate... it's a heavy duty cleaner used before painting. YOU'RE EATING IT. Many cereals have it. LOOK for it in the ingredients

@anonymous5426 Trisodium Phosphate in cereals is safe enough for manufactures to decide on their own. I think it's up to them. personally a minor preponderance of individual would prefer to just not eat this. That doesn't mean that I think it's really dangerous, but I prefer to eat as little additives as possible.

March 26th, 2022, ****LUCKY CHARMS****
My son who is 3 years old and borderline nonverbal with sensory issues had intense abdominal pain episodes 3 times within a 3 week period starting the night of March 26th, 2020. Each episode I thought it was a seizure because he... See More was unresponsive, screaming, in shock, and thrashing. I have a video of the last one on April 13th, 2020 for evidence. Throughout that 3 week period he was coughing, drooling, refusing to eat, and scraping his tongue with his hands, pointing in his mouth. The doctor could not find an answer with a general check up. Today I see Lucky Charms had a recall of Trisodium Phosphate. He loves Lucky Charms and would eat them very frequently. All of the symptoms of Trisodium Phosphate poisoning meets his criteria of illness. Now i’m not sure if this has done permanent damage to his GI tract or not but he hasn’t acted the same towards food or in general since this happened. He is often very sick and continues to have green diarrhea. He barely eats anything at all and fills up on milk. | Symptoms: Cough, Stomach Pain See Less

Tonight. Four year old daughter just threw up buckets after eating Lucky Charms about an hour ago.  About a week to 10 days ago my daughter threw up in the middle of the night. She was the only one of six who got sick. A couple days... See More later I heard about Lucky Charms. I thought about what she ate that night and was pretty sure it was lucky charms but couldn’t be 100%. Tonight she ate it again and was throwing up within the hour.  | Symptoms: Nausea, Vomiting See Less

I ate lucky charms for breakfast one morning before basketball practice and that was in February I believe the 5th and now it is April 21st and I am still sick with cramps and diarrhea about 3 times a day I went from weighting 165 to 145. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Cramps See Less

I’ve been getting violently sick, consisting of severe stomach pain, extreme vomiting, diarrhea with hemorrhoids & bitter taste with bad breath. Horrible gagging reflex while brushing teeth that never existed before. Problem persists so long but never made the connection to my constant eating of my former... See More favorite cereal. Experience tooth ache which I thought was a cavity development so I stopped eating the cereal. Made appointment for PCP doctor with complaints as well as my dentist. Problems stopped for me! Still had Lucky Charm cereal remaining in last purchased box. Gave a portion to my three year old son and later that night his extreme diarrhea began. Called his pediatrician & was told to monitor his behavior & give it 24 hours as long as it doesn’t seem to worsen. Give Pedialyte to keep him hydrated. The next evening his stool began to firm & his complaints stopped. I then made the connection to the Lucky Charms Cereal. NEVER WILL EAT IT AGAIN IN LIFE!!!!!! | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain, Acid reflux See Less
