visiting. I ate the pizza first on 8/8. Two hours after I went to bed I was awakened with a horrible stomach ache. I blamed it on icecream. Last night 8/11 I had 2 leftover pieces. Illnesses started on dates ranging from February 24, 2023, to May 28, 2023. 15 sick people reported eating raw cookie dough from Papa Murphy’s Take ‘N’ Bake Pizza in the week before they got sick. On May 23, Papa Murphy’s temporarily stopped selling their raw chocolate chip cookie dough and raw S’mores bars dough in response to this outbreak. As of July 13, Papa Murphy’s has not restarted sales of cookie dough and is reviewing their dessert labels to make it clear to customers that their products are not intended to be eaten raw.

CDC, public health and regulatory officials in several states, and the FDA are investigating a multistate outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis infections linked to Papa Murphy’s raw cookie dough. As of May 23, 2023, 18 people infected with the outbreak strain of Salmonella have been reported from 6 states (California, Idaho, Missouri, Oregon, Utah, and Washington). 2 have been hospitalized and no deaths have been reported. Illnesses started on dates ranging from February 27, 2023, to May 2, 2023.

9 sick people reported eating raw cookie dough from Papa Murphy’s Take ‘N’ Bake Pizza in the week before they got sick. Based on this information, Papa Murphy’s has temporarily stopped selling their raw chocolate chip cookie dough and raw S’mores bars dough. At least two sick people did not eat at Papa Murphy’s. Investigators are working to identify the contaminated ingredient in the raw cookie dough. The investigation is ongoing

CDC is advising people to check their refrigerator and freezer for these raw doughs and to throw any away. CDC always advises people not to eat raw cookie dough, unless it has a label indicating that it is safe to be eaten raw.
