I just searched Klondike wrapper smells weird because mine does. I ate one yesterday but didn't think much of it because it was only a light smoky scent. I brushed it off when I shouldn't have. I didn't experience illness but tonight as I took a bite of a second one the smell was way more intense and more of a chemical smell than smoke.
Never smelled anything quite like it before let alone on a product I intended to eat. So I started searching if anyone else experienced this. Something is definitely wrong and reports started at least a year ago. How are they still selling us this crap. What I didn't read about was a recall nor an explanation which is unbelievable. I haven't purchased Klondikes in a year or 2 and most likely I never will again. I'll never forget the smell. The people deserve a truthful response which we will probably never get. Crazy that it's just so commonplace for Americans to be sold slop containing carcinogens that it doesn't even make the news anymore. Even when that product is sold in every store in America and the company has clearly and knowingly continued to make a profit off poisoning us for who knows how long. I can't anymore. So sick of these rich ass mofos doing whatever they want with no consequences nor regard for anyone.
Id imagine it's just a coincidence but mine was Reese's as well.
