The Walmart brand is not egg beaters. And yes, it is gross. Egg Beaters are quite safe and the origins are known. I don't by store brand anything that if not handled correctly will spoil.
Sounds like they were forgotten back there. They are pasteurized and have a long shelf life. Once opened use them in a few days.
