The affected mussels were harvested by Allen’s Fisheries, Ltd. and distributed to various states, including Connecticut, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.

The FDA's warning pertains to mussels harvested on February 7, 2024 (Julian date 24038), from harvest area AQ # 15 Newfoundland, with a final harvest date of February 18, 2024 (Julian date 24049). The mussels were shipped to distributors on or around February 21, 2024 (Julian Date 24052).

Restaurants and retailers should not serve or sell the potentially contaminated mussels. Restaurants and retailers should dispose of any products by throwing them in the garbage or contacting their distributors to arrange for return and destruction.
