Seattle & King County Public Health announced that they are investigating an outbreak of norovirus-like illness with vomiting, diarrhea, body aches, and chills linked to WildFin American Grill located at 727 N 10th St, Renton, WA.
Since August 2, 2021, 10 people from 3 meal parties reported becoming ill after consuming food from WildFin American Grill on July 29, 2021, and so far one employee experienced symptoms consistent with norovirus dating back to August 4, 2021, but who did not work while contagious. No hospitalizations or death are reported at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
Norovirus is very contagious and is easily transmitted from person to person most through the oral/fecal route. Considering that hand sanitizer does NOT work against this virus, it is important to wash your hands with soap. Use bleach to clean and disinfect surfaces.
In case you are experiencing vomiting, diarrhea, body aches, and chills symptoms, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance.
