Resort was clean and beautiful but my sister became violently ill on Day 2 of her holiday. She spent a full day and night vomiting. She wasn’t okay for the rest of the trip and barely ate. I fell ill the day before leaving. I had been
feeling off with moderate stomach cramping for two days before that. This, despite eating no fresh produce, washing my hands thoroughly and not drinking the water.

I went with my wife and 2 kids in June of 2015 for 5 days. When we got back on June 25th, I had to be rushed to the ER for severe abdominal pain, including vomiting and diarrhea. The pain so so excruciating I had to call
an ambulance. I received 4 bags of IV which did not help. I started feeling like weak at the airport. I traced my illness to the one thing no one else in my family consumed. It was a prepared little alcoholic slushy drink at the lobby set on a tray at checkout on our way out. The onset of action was pretty quick as I felt feverish at the airport. Luckily, my wife found Advil for sale at the airport to hold me off until we arrived in NY.

Me and my partner both got ill on the last full day of our holiday. Both had diarreah and I had a fever and nausea for the full day. Both still got diarreah and terrible intermittent cramps now we're home. Had it 6 days now!

I visited the in February of this year. The day I returned I had high fever serve soar throat and my lymph nodes were enlarged. I went to the doctor for weeks and they could not determine what was going on. I could not eat swallow and
move out of my bed for weeks. My doctor did many blood test to determine that I had strain G strep throat which comes from live stock only. I was put on antibiotics which did not help. I then had to have my tonsils removed in May and I’m still recovering. I have never been this sick in my life. Due to this I will never travel to DR. Something needs to be done. I’ve reach out to the resort to try and get refunded for my medical bills and all doctor visits no response so I’ll be contacting an attorney.

I vacationed in the Dominican Republic about 4-5 years ago. We stayed at the Bahia Principle La Romano. I saw the deaths being reported & decided to tell my story. We ate & drank at the resort only. Nice vacation but I became severely ill right before
we left. By the time we landed in Miami I was suffering from severe abdominal pain. I thought it may be bad food or a bug. Over the next few days it worsened. Doctor gave antibiotics but it did not help. Over the next 8 months I went to 12 doctors and through a battery of tests to no available. I finally landed with a doctor who says he doesn’t know what caused the initial pain. He said that whatever had caused the pain that it was so intense that my brain could not stop sending pain signals. I was put on meds to dull the pain & given a series of 12 to 15 injections in my abdomen each of the five times to stop the pain. It was extremely painful but after 2 1/2 years, many doctors & procedures & physical therapy I am now feeling better. I still have manageable effects. I cannot wear tight clothes or anything with zippers. I cannot exert myself to far or the pain returns. I cannot say definitively that it was caused by something at the resort but I truly believe it was. I will NEVER go back!!!
