FSA Recall date: 08/04/2021
Recall details: Jumbo Importers Ltd is recalling various KOO canned products on a precautionary basis because of a defective side seam weld in a small number of cans. This defect may cause the cans to leak and impact the safety of the product.

The recalled products are:
- Koo Baked Beans in Tomato Sauce (410g)
- Koo Butter Beans (410g)
- Koo Baked Beans Chili Beans (420g)
- Koo Baked Beans in Curry Sauce (410g)
- Koo Baked Beans in Hot Chakalaka (410g)
- Koo Cream Style Sweetcorn (415g)
- Koo Veg Curry in Tangy Sauce (420g)
- Koo Veg Curry Hot (420g)
- Koo Veg Curry (420g)
- Koo Mixed Vegetables (410g)

These products were distributed in England, Wales and Scotland.

If you have bought any of the above products do not eat them. Instead, return the product to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.

The defective packaging has the potential to cause the can to leak, which may result in potential secondary microbiological contamination. If the product becomes contaminated and is consumed it may cause illness.

- comments: noted previous priority foudation violation not corrected from inspection #2523259 conducted on 7/27/21 not corrected; observed 5 live cockroaches on the walls near the three compartment sink and behind the clean dish storage racks in the dishwashing area. Upon reinspection found about 10 live roaches in the same area. Instructed to remove all roaches, clean/sanitize affected areas, and contact pest control for service. Priority violation 7-42-090. Citation issued.
