If you ate a burger/lettuce that had romane lettuce on it, it's likely you got E-Coli from it.
There is currently an investigation into an E-Coli outbreak with romane lettuced served at Wendy's being seen as the primary cause
It's actually not that unlikely for them all to have gotten sick despite not sharing any food. There are a multitude of reasons as to why they got sick, like cross contamination for example.
There could've also been a sick worker who shouldn't have been at work that day.
There may have been a common ingredient among the dishes that was bad.
I mean, I can think of two things
1. Either you just have some real bad luck with Burger King
Or
2. There is the possibility that an ingredient they use, be it the oil for frying or a seasoning of some sort, may be caused by an unknown intolerance/allergy
Obviously that last one is a shot in the dark as I don't know your medical history, but those are the two reasons I can think of
I hope you start feeling better soon! Food poisoning is never fun to deal with
As far as the TMI part goes, you really don't need to worry about it. I've seen reports on here that go into more detail and include pictures, so I think you're good!
When the cereal is making multiple people sick, it's clearly not just the person eating it.
There's a chance the person making the report never made the connection between the cereal and the illnesses until now when there are a ton of reports of people with the same symptoms, even from people who haven't had problems in the past
It may be great to you, but not to others. If someone gets sick from eating at a restaurant, they have every right to make it known to the public so others don't get sick as well
I would recommend keeping the product for use in any possible testing and reporting your symptoms directly to the FDA as there is an ongoing investigation. It may also help to contact your state health department and report it to them as well
That's a pretty plausible theory. Although, I've read reports that came in from people who got sick like, late last year, and I just find it hard to believe it was only one batch that got contaminated
I wouldn't put much hope on General Mills to do anything meanful in terms of helping people who got sick off of their product/products. They've already claimed that their investigation found nothing that would be making so many people sick (complete and utter BS if you ask me)
I'm waiting for the FDA to finish their investigation and come out with a statement
