It was Christmas eve 2013...one of the coldest ever....every place to eat was over crowded...so we walked around and stupidly ended up at the Pontalba restaurant.....corner of St. Peter and Chartres. I had chicken and Italian style cut green beans...I also had a glass of white wine. My partner had the same dish. By the time I'd finished I began to get that little stomach movement, that no matter what you do from now on you're going to vomit. We left and whilst walking through Jackson Square, I almost did, right at the Jackson statue. I immediately started heading for the hotel...a long way off on Dauphine. Every step I took I came closer to just bending to the gutter and letting it hurl. I made to the hotel just in time...a real gusher...then the other end started singing. Worst Christmas ever. The next day was spent in exhaustion....just water and no thought of food....in New Orleans, that's a felony! Strangely enough my partner had the same meal and had no symptoms. Avoid the Pontalba restaurant!
