New Salmonella Outbreak linked to Moringa Leaf Powder in Dietary Supplements

The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) has confirmed two new cases of Salmonella linked to tnvitamins moringa leaf powder capsules, purchased on Amazon. From November 2025 to February 2026, 97 cases were reported across 32 states, including seven in Minnesota, with 26 hospitalizations. The cases reported in April 2026 involve individuals in Minnesota who have since recovered. MDH advises against consuming these capsules, identified as lot 2793 with an expiration date of February 2028.These new cases suggest that a previously reported multistate Salmonella outbreak associated with dietary supplements is ongoing. MDH is collaborating with the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, the CDC, the FDA, and other states to investigate further cases and assess the outbreak's scope.
The problem was discovered through routine surveillance and testing by health officials, who identified the link between the new cases and the moringa leaf powder capsules. This follows multiple recent Salmonella outbreaks tied to moringa products, prompting health officials to advise consulting healthcare providers before using any moringa products.
