Sewage backup. A floor sink was not draining properly, causing wastewater to spill onto the floor. There were three other major violations. The condensation lines at the fish display case had “excessive mold infiltration” and contaminated water was dripping directly onto fish. One handwashing sink had no water and another had only scalding hot water. Also, the facility had no sanitizer (and the owner didn’t know how to wash, rinse and sanitize utensils). Among the 13 lesser violations, the ice machine was impounded due to excessive mold that required professional cleaning, the exhaust hood was excessively dirty and also required professional cleaning, utensils were being stored on the ground, and all shelving, walls, floors, display cases and carts needed cleaning as well.
