Raw chicken can be contaminated with Campylobacter, Salmonella, and Clostridium perfringens bacteria. These can cause abdominal pain, cramps, and prolonged diarrhea and vomiting. Also, if the contamination is chemical or physical, symptoms can start within minutes. If it is biological contamination, it can start as fast as 30 minutes (e.g. Staph).
