My family visited April 05-11, 2019 for my wedding (April 09). My 15 year old cousin was sick the entire trip and was actually admitted to a Dominican hospital the 8-10th with fever, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. All they gave him in the hospital was an IV and antibiotics and told him to stay out of the sub/pool. The resort did call to check up on him but they also were not helpful. The resort MD charged a fee, my family had to take a taxi (50$ each way) to bring him to the hospital and pay $4000 up front to cover fees since they do not take insurance. My cousin lost 20lbs from this illness.Not only did my cousin and his family miss my wedding happen bc he was in the hospital, the day of my wedding my MOTHER and her best friend both missed my wedding reception d/t the same symptoms described above. My mother verbalized that she could not lift her head from the pillow without throwing up
After the day of my wedding, 3 other family members reported the same symptoms and 2 others were sick once they arrived back in the United States.
A man died was hospitalized with these same symptoms and died on the 15th and we as guests of the resort HAD NO IDEA.
I will never return to the Dominican Republic. | Symptome: Durchfall, Fieber, Übelkeit, Erbrechen
